Residential Swimming Pool PERMITS & INSPECTION PROCESS.
A permit of the building is needed for construction, repair, alteration, or enlargement of any Residential Swimming Pool. A swimming pool is an artificial structure, either below or above ground, that is accessory to a residential setting and available only to the house members and its guests for swimming, wading, diving, or recreational bathing. A pool inspection report also points out that it must be protected by a fence at least 42” tall or can be covered automatically.
Apply and Pay
Residential Swimming Pool Permits must be applied for electronically and these permit applications can be made at any time. I expect by state law, a non-refundable filing fee should be paid at the application. You can pay through credit card, escrow, or electronic check but cash will only be accepted if paid in person.
Build Swimming Pools
All of the work must conform to the approved document and drawings or revised approved documents and drawings. These permits must be kept on-site and available to DPS inspectors until the project is completed.
Inspection Schedule
|A pool inspection should be requested at least 24 hours before the date the pool inspection is needed. Pool inspections, except partial inspections, may be scheduled online by using the requested link in the process box. You will need the permit number, type of permit, and contact ID number printed in the top right corner of the permit.
Permit Revision
You must follow steps to request a permit revision through four revisions should be detailed out about what is being changed with the square footage of the changing area or changes in the construction cost included. The revision fee should be involved by DPS staff. Once the fee calculation is done you will be able to pay them online or through mail or in-person at the DPS office.
It is better to have a pool inspection to know about all the regulations and necessary repairs.
